| In July 2005, SANYO Electric Group established a new vision, ‘Think GAIA’, aiming to become a company that would truly please the Earth, and also launched a structural reform plan entitled the ‘SANYO EVOLUTION PROJECT’. Further, in July 2006, SANYO Electric Group reorganized its organization aiming at a ‘Shift to Core Business’ and the ‘Pursuit of Total Optimization’, and is working on structural reform with all its power to realize this new vision. As the group company focusing on capacitors, custom devices, optical pickups, motors and photonics business, the Electronic Device Company of the SANYO Electric Co., Ltd. Component & Device Group supplies a wide range of key devices that support the development of electronics equipment, including the audio-visual and IT equipment that evolves continuously through use of unique technologies developed in our various operations. While the environment surrounding us is changing drastically and developing on a global scale, we want to establish a presence, if only small, that shines like a diamond, by developing and supplying new technologies and products that meet our customer’s expectations. In this hope, we combine the best global manufacturing with the latest materials & elemental technologies such as polymers, ceramics, magnets and optics. We want to deliver high-valued added, attractive products able to achieve customer satisfaction. In order to win through in today’s fierce global competition, we have returned to the basics of manufacturing to pursue quality, cost and delivery. Also, by taking “speed”, “concentration”, “reliance” and “genba-ryoku”(=functional ability in each work place) as our keywords, deepening the technological and product development capabilities we have cultivated in various business fields and displaying our corporate synergies, we will keep on trying to provide new value that opens doors to the future. At the same time, under the SANYO Electric Group corporate slogan – “products and services that offer complete customer satisfaction and care for the environment” – we will give first priority to the protection of the global environment as an exemplary corporate citizen and by implementing environmental management aimed at realizing the ’Think GAIA’ vision, with ‘electricity and resource saving” as our keywords, we intend to develop as a company able to contribute to society.
